Shane Walsh received a hero's welcome after he helped Kilmacud Crokes win the Dublin SFC championship.
The Galway GAA star had an eventful final. He suffered a blood injury in the first half before being quickly patched up for the second. He then proceeded to kick 3 points, all from play to help his club edged out Na Fianna by one point, 0-11 to 0-10.

Arriving into the champion's clubhouse with the trophy aloft, the All Star Nominee received a hero's welcome. The club's social accounts said he was late to the party because he needed 'late night treatment' but he was serenaded all the same with 'Sweet Caroline'

Club Transfer
This is Shane Walsh's first season at the South Dublin club after his controversial transfer from Kilkerrin-Clonberne in Galway. The 29-year-old wanted the move as he is studying a BA in Portobello College in Dublin and didn't want to spend his evenings commuting to and from Galway. His home club was unhappy over their star player's move citing that it is getting harder for rural clubs to keep hold of their players.
Speaking before the final, Walsh's teammate Shane Cunningham said that the team ignored the criticism over his move.
Naturally enough when there was talk Shane Walsh was joining Kilmacud Crokes, a big South Dublin club, there was always going to be mud thrown in that regard. So we just ignored it.
Cunningham also revealed that the Galway forward is making a huge effort to get to know his club and his new teammates.
He's really made an effort with us, getting to know us, and around the club as well, he has volunteered his time with teams to get to know people throughout the club as well. He was out supporting the ladies footballers a good few nights during the championship, so he's making a massive effort to get to know everyone. I can't fault him at all.
All Star Nominee
Last Sunday capped off a brilliant season for Walsh. He helped Galway reach their first All Ireland final since and kicked 9 points in the decider. He has since received an All Star nomination for his efforts. Next up for Kilmacud Crokes is the Leinster club championship so their star player may not be done lifting silverware this season.
