Last Sunday, St. Patrick's Ballyragget players could not have envisioned the national coverage which their victory in the Kilkenny Intermediate Hurling Championship final would receive.
Two days after the final, a small group of players from the club were pictured in some wild celebrations along with two very much naked ladies named Fifi and Sabrina.
Pictures and video from the party - which is reported to have been a 21st birthday celebration for one the St. Pat's players - made their way into WhatsApp groups nationwide. By Thursday, they would be on the front page of national newspapers.
One of the players, who was the main focus of attention from the ladies, appeared to be involved in a sex act in one image.
Speaking to the Sunday Independent, Ballyragget parish priest Fr. Tommy Murphy said he would be willing to hear the confession of anyone involved in Tuesday night's events.
I don't think there's going to be a rush to confessions but if anyone wants to talk about it, I would be very glad to talk to them. There is salvation at the end of this.
The salvation of their souls would seem more of a long-term concern for those involved considering the Gardaí are said to be investigating the events surrounding the capturing of the images.
Fr. Murphy is also said to be "not very happy" that business has risen 70 per cent for Fifi and Sabrina since the emergence of images from the night in question.
