The great advantage local commentators have over national commentators during days like yesterday is that it can appear they're actually seated amongst delirious supporters.
The guttural roars of the crowd are that bit louder, the yahoos are more audible (possibly because in some cases they are emanating from within the commentary box - Clare FM know what we're talking about) and the wall of sound just sounds that bit more overwhelming.
Galway Bay FM's commentary team, lead fantastically by Sean Walsh with support from Conor Hayes and Franny Forde captured the heart-pounding nature of yesterday's climax with their 'announcing' of the last few minutes.
Also, Galway's remarkable workrate yesterday is highlighted by teenage livewire Conor Whelan winning a ball he had no right to win after a tussle in the corner with Cathal Barrett.
Here's the final few minutes on Galway Bay FM, beginning with Noel McGrath putting Tipperary one point ahead with less than a minute of normal time remaining.
The excitement really ramps up when David Burke sweeps up the Tipperary line ball at 3:33...
