Eamon Dunphy's fondness for hurling, and Kilkenny hurling in particular, is well known. Dunphy is loath to draw up a list of the greatest Irish sportspeople, believing one should just celebrate sporting heroes for what they are. Comparing players from different era with one other is a treacherous business.
