Ahead of this afternoon's bonanza of ladies football in Croke Park, it was hoped that previous attendances records would be eclipsed.
With fans travelling from Fermanagh, Derry, Tyrone, Tipperary, Mayo and Dublin, last year's total of just under 35,000 was a target many wished to see overtaken.
At half-time in the senior final between Dublin and Mayo, great excitement greeted the announcement that these pre-match hopes had been realised.
Addressing the expectant crowd, Dáithí Ó Sé revealed that this year's finals had brought 46,286 people to Croke Park - an astonishing increase of over 10,000 on last year's record.
Many people commenting from within Croke Park have clearly been impressed with the amount of supporters in attendance.
