Apparently, there is only one candidate for the vacant Roscommon managerial position.
Kevin McStay is to be interviewed by a committee made up of members of the county board as well as a number of outsiders.
McStay is reported to be the preferred choice among the players, impressed by his approach with St. Brigid's. He led Brigid's the All-Ireland club title on St. Patrick's Day, 2013.
McStay has also previously managed the Roscommon minors in 2004.
McStay and his selector with St. Brigid's, Liam McHale, were interviewed for the Mayo job last year, but lost out to the 2006 U21 All-Ireland winning duo of Noel Connelly and Pat Holmes.
The decision upset many Mayo supporters at the time, with many believing that McStay and McHale were the rightful successors to James Horan.
The Irish Times report that Roscommon are eager to have a new manager in place by the end of September.
