The hurling All-Stars were announced this morning, boasting seven players from Kilkenny and four from beaten finalists, Galway, but Anthony Daly feels another Tribesman can count himself very unlucky to miss out on the gong.

Writing in today's Irish Examiner, Daly mentioned Johnny Glynn as a man deserving of the award. Daly said:

I think Johnny Glynn is unfortunate to lose out. His workrate all year — apart from the All-Ireland final — was immense and it probably deserved to be rewarded. Then again, Jason Flynn has a case too.

Saying that, as Daly points out himself, 'You just can’t pick everybody.'

A three-time All Star winner himself, the former Clare captain says the All-Star Awards night is one of the best of the year. A time when you get that rare opportunity to drink and chat with your opponents. However - and I'm sure some Galway players can attest to this - Daly is of the opinion that no personal award can make up for an All-Ireland final defeat.

In our eyes, Glynn deserves an All-Ireland simply because of his post-match interview after beating Cork if nothing else.
