Just four months undergoing surgery for testicular cancer, Noel McGrath made his inter-county comeback in the All-Ireland semi-final.
McGrath came off the bench with just over eight minutes left and, momentarily, it looked as if he would be the hero as the 24-year-old put Tipp up a point with just a minute remaining in normal time.
However, Galway got two scores, an equaliser from Jason Flynn and then a winner from Shane Moloney.
After the game, Galway manager Anthony Cunningham and Noel McGrath shared a nice moment on the pitch.
