Brian Cody was ratified for another season as Kilkenny's all-powerful leader by the county board last night and we can only assume the the odds on the Cats retaining their All-Ireland crown were cut in line with that groundbreaking news.
While Cody's return was hardly surprising, one things that did catch attention was the fact that Eddie Brennan is now cutting his teeth in inter-county management with Kilkenny's u21s. Brennan replaces Brian Ryan in the role after having previously led Lisdowney to junior county success in 2013.

Kilkenny's u21 pedigree has not exactly matched their senior output over the past couple years and there had been reports that Cody would be on hand to give Brennan a helping hand. However, the Cats have taken to twitter on Tuesday to refute suggestions that Cody would be double jobbing.
Kilkenny GAA wish to state that Brian Cody will have no role with the Kilkenny Under 21 team in 2016.

Brennan follows fellow Sunday Game alumni Donal Óg Cusack into the inter-county coaching scene this year and it will certainly be interesting to see how he gets on with the possibility of Cody eventually giving up his post sometime in the next twenty years.
