Former Mayo forward Andy Moran scored 3-3 in his final club game for Ballaghaderreen to help them avoid relegation from the senior championship.
The 38-year-old scored a hat-trick as Ballaghaderreen defeated Davitts 6-8 to 2-8 to secure their safety, closing the curtain on an incredible career for Moran.

The current Leitrim manager left club football on a positive note, having won the senior football titles in 2008 and 2012.
The former Mayo captain will go down as one of the greatest players to never win an All-Ireland title, having come so close on several occasions with Mayo.
Despite the absence of an All-Ireland title, Andy Moran achieved a list of honours during his career, including eight Connacht senior titles, a national league title in 2019, two All-stars and won footballer of the year in 2017.

Today was a fitting way for Andy Moran to end his playing days, being the star of the show to help his team in their time of need, the story of his time with Mayo.
For someone who achieved so much in the game, his ability to pick himself up from the lowest of moments and constantly deliver on the biggest stage was the story of his career.
In the 2012 All Ireland quarter-final win over Down, he was stretched off the pitch and was ruled out for the rest of the season, missing their 2012 final defeat to Donegal.
He came back to be one of Mayo’s best performers in 2013 as they picked themselves back up to reach the final against Dublin, which Moran scored a goal but yet again ended in defeat.

Further final defeats to Dublin followed for Moran and Mayo in 2016 and 2017, but his performance level never dropped, with his ability to score from anywhere and movement to leave defences twisting and turning one of the great modern sights in football.
Retired from Mayo since 2019, Moran is hoping to make his own memories as manager of Leitrim.
