In an alternative reality without covid-19, the GAA's National Leagues would have kicked off this dreary weekend, as they traditionally do on the last weekend of January. Along with the launch of the Six Nations, it's one of the ways the Irish sporting calendar tells us that spring is coming. We don't know when we'll see intercounty GAA games again, and as we wait, we'll take any GAA content we can get.
We're extremely grateful to William Coleman for this highly entertaining Twitter thread he posted this morning comparing GAA managers to Simpsons characters. We especially enjoy Dalo as Superintendent Chalmers and Ched Flanders.
