For the first time post covid, RTÉ's Up For The Match is back. Fans from Kilkenny and Limerick will take part along with a long list of some of the best pundits from around the country. Here's all the information you need to know, including when is Up For The Match.
When is Up For The Match?
The preview show of the All-Ireland final is on at 9:45pm on Saturday the 16th of July.
How to watch Up For The Match
You can watch the show live on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
Who will be involved?
Up For The Match will be presented by Jacqui Hurley and Des Cahill. Popular impressionist and comedian Conor Sketches will feature on the show as will singers Mundy and Claudia Buckley.
Former Kilkenny hurlers Jackie Tyrell and Paul Murphy will be joined by ex Limerick players TJ Ryan and Aoife Sheehan.
Presenters Jacqui Hurley and Des Cahill have been speaking about the first show in three years and are excited ahead of Saturday night.
Jacqui Hurley said:
"I can’t wait for up for the match to return this year. We all saw during the pandemic how much we missed live sport, but we also missed the craic & energy of having a live studio audience. After a few years absence, we’re going to make sure this programme returns with a bang!"
Des Cahill also spoke about the returning show, saying:
"I have been doing the show for 20 years and it was only when it wasn't on television that you realise, it is such a big part of the All Ireland final weekend. And there are few current players now that were little kids when I first started presenting it and they watched me on Up for the Match and dreamt of playing in the All Ireland"
For a show that was such a big part of the build up to the penultimate game in the hurling calendar, it's great to finally have Up For The Match returning to out TV screens.
