It's always glorious when famous people from other countries give their opinions on our national sports. We have already seen Alf Stewart from Home and Away give his thoughts on Brian O'Driscoll's Lions fiasco, as well as being photographed with Mayo flag.
But now it appears that Alf has revealed his county allegiance. In a message recorded for the fans, Alf announces that it's been long enough, and it's time for the Galway tribesmen to win the All Ireland hurling championship.
G'day, g'day, g'day, it's Ray Meagher here, or if you like Alf Stewart from Home & Away. I want to talk about 1988. What a great year it was. Two big things happened - Home & Away went to air for the first time in Australia, and the Galway tribesmen won the All Ireland hurling championship. That's right folk it was all the way back in 1988, a long time in between drinks.
But, it's all going to change this Sunday in Croke Park - they're on the march. Now down in Kilkenny, the Cats they won seven of the last ten championships. Now most people think that cats have got nine lives, but I can tell you blokes in Kilkenny that you've only got seven and you've had 'em. The tribesmen are coming for ya.
Go you good things, this Sunday at Croke Park - don't miss it. See the Galway tribesmen win this championship for the first time since 1988.
Get out of the road ya flamin' galahs.
