Mayo goalkeeper Rob Hennelly announced his retirement earlier this week, but the tributes are still flooding in for the Connacht man.
Best known for his famous late equaliser against Dublin back in 2021, a game which saw the Dubs lose their All-Ireland title after six years undefeated, the shot stopper has decided to hang up the boots.
Mayo hero Aidan O'Shea took to Instagram to pay a touching tribute to his former county teammate, and best friend.
"To be able to live out your childhood dreams with your best mate and share a dressing room for the last 15 years has been special.
"@robhennelly a brilliant goalkeeper & person....not taking to the pitch together again will take some getting used to. Enjoy retirement....back to single digit handicap now."
The two friends broke onto the Mayo team around the same time, and have enjoyed a fantastic career together, although O'Shea has confirmed that he is still staying on for the 2025 season.
In a statement released by the player himself, Hennelly explained why he has decided to leave the inter-county game.

"I am privileged to have been involved with the Mayo senior team since 2009 and to have played at the highest level for as long as I have," he said.
"However, now feels like the right time for me to retire from inter-county football, although I’m sure many thought I already had!
"I tried to give it a go again this year, but life moves fast as they say – and I'm grateful to be leaving on my own terms and with so much to look forward to in 2025 and beyond."
Hennelly won't be retiring from the sport entirely, as he still plans on playing club football after making the move to Raheny in Dublin.
Former Dublin star Brian Fenton will be one of his new teammates, another player who made the decision to retire from the county game earlier this year.
After years of travelling to and from Dublin though, Hennelly is looking forward to playing club football again, and not have to deal with the tortures of constantly travelling.
