Limerick were too good for Kilkenny in the All-Ireland U21 hurling final.
A six-point victory gave Limerick their second title at this level in the last three years.
Aaron Gillane was the star man for Limerick on the day, hitting seven points in all, five of those coming from play.
Gillane was in a buoyant mood while speaking to TG4 after the game.
Why wouldn't you be smiling after winning the All-Ireland? Training all year for it, it's just the best feeling ever.
We're after winning the All-Ireland, we didn't do it the easy way, all the hard matches we're after playing. I think we deserved it.
Asked if some of Limerick's decision making had been suspect, Gillane was quick to dismiss it as nerves.
Sure look, it's fine. Everyone's nervous. There's game plans and all that but once you go out on the field, it's all instinct. You're training all year, all you're doing is hurling training. You go out on the field and let the hurling do the talking.
He also added that Limerick had some extra motivation on Saturday. Many of the players who lost to Kilkenny in the 2014 All-Ireland minor final were involved in today's decider.
We had an extra bit of motivation there today. If they beat us again, we'd probably never have lived that down.
If you lose two finals, that's what you are going to be remembered for. All-Ireland finals are for winning so thankfully we did that today.
We're finished our underage career now, we've been playing together since we were U14. We're going try to kick on and make the senior panel again.
You never know, you might see a few of us on the senior panel next year, that's the plan anyway.
