Last month, Galway hurler Aidan Harte went to the circus.
He had nothing but praise for the acts on show that night but he regrettably had to point out that the chances of the audience enjoying the spectacle were greatly diminished (somewhere in the region of 'zero' in fact) because the circus was being run by a clown.
Harte, no doubt, believes that a clown is an unsuitable person to be put in charge of the running of a circus. That job should perhaps go to a professional administrator or an event planner. Or at least someone with a greater range of administrative skills, beyond those of a humble clown.
He subsequently deleted this facebook post, lest it offend anyone he regards as a clown (fairly or unfairly and regardless of their achievements or whether that is their official job title) who is currently working either in or outside of the circus industry.
