The Kerry County Board announced an unexpected comeback for Paul Galvin this evening. The 35-year-old trained with Kerry in Tralee ahead of their Allianz Football League clash with Cork at Páirc Uí Rinn this weekend.
The Lixnaw man retired last surprisingly retired in February of last year with Kerry going on to win the All-Ireland.
Here's how Twitter reacted to the news.

Wow! Paul Galvin back with Kerry. No-one saw that coming. Wonder is he being pencilled in for centre-back?

@Jdbfitzgerald Paul Galvin back with the kingdom...must surely be the fashionable collarless jerseys that swung it for him!

It might be Fitzmaurice at the Kerry helm but this Galvin trick is a Jack O'Connor one. Brosnan, McCarthy, O'Sullivan. #GAA

By the way no trees around Caherslee pitch so info coming back is sketchy -just when I thought I had the Kerry/ Cork Presser to myself #bang

Fitting that Paul Galvin has announced a comeback the week of a Cork-Kerry game. Even a league one. Presume year off healed up the body.

Holy shit, Paul Galvin's back. Forget any possible Oasis comeback. Forget any possible John Lennon revival. This is it.

Galvin back for Kerry? They've been struggling badly without him...

Galvin's return to Kerry flies in the face of everything he wrote in his book on why he left. Not convinced! But love it all the same #GAA

Most other counties have lost players for 2015. Kerry have gained Gooch, Tommy Walsh and Paul Galvin #RedHotFavourites
