Nearly a fortnight ago, Mayo football legend Ciarán McDonald gave a rare media interview when he appeared on Second Captains Live on RTÉ. Mike Finnerty of the Mayo News actually wrote that it was the fourth interview which he can recall the Mayo man giving about his GAA career,
In an absorbing 20 minutes chatting with Eoin McDevitt and Ciaran Murphy, McDonald spoke about how he believes Gaelic football is in a great place at the moment, training with random clubs around the country due to his job, a brief stint of employment at a financial institution and the time he stepped away from football over 10 years ago due to abuse suffered by his sister.
Well worth a watch.
