Joe Brolly; barrister, analyst, organ donation campaigner, future GAA President?
According to the man himself, in today's Irish Examiner, he has been asked by several parties to consider running for the position. The next election will not take place until two years time, with the next Uachtarán Cumann Lúthchleas Gael not taking their position until 2018.
Brolly himself seems sceptical of running, especially as he may be forced to subdue some of his natural tendencies.
I’m a freelance animal, really. Obviously, there’s been a huge response to anything I’ve done over the last three or four years. I’ve had a lot of communications from people saying: ‘You must do something bigger than this’.
In a way, the most important job I have is my U14s and U16s (with his club St Brigid’s). We have a lot of fun. Teaching them how to lob the keeper — that’s a lot of fun. We enjoy it.
It’s very difficult to say because the political structure is very narrow and for me it’s very limiting because it requires political correctness and subservience.
It would be interesting to see Brolly run to say the least.
