A stellar cast make up our quartet of nominees this time around as the championship is whittled down to the final twelve.
A number of candidates put their hand up, beginning with Diarmuid O'Connor, who delivered a spectacular performance in Castlebar on Saturday evening as Mayo continued their return to health.
Not only did he score a wonderful and rather unique goal, but he fired over a series of magnificent, elegant scores from long range.
However, the public have only voted him into second place.
For Tyrone's grand old man/footballing giant delivered one of his finest displays on Sunday. O'Connor's performance was wonderfully artistic but the masses evidently felt playing Kildare in a home qualifier was rather more sedate an environment than an Ulster Final in Clones. Sean Cavanagh wins the prize on 37.
It was hard to pick a standout figure from Galway's ensemble cast of dangerous forwards but we plumped for their wrecking ball full forward Damien Comer who utterly dominated his man on the square and whacked over a series of smashing points in the opening half.
In third place was Bernard Brogan, who made hay in another handy Leinster Final win for the Dubs.
