It's moving day in the AFL as new rookies are announced for all the teams, and amongst them is Kildare senior footballer Paddy Brophy, who'll be joining West Coast Eagles on a two-year deal.
The Celbridge native is currently in Melbourne and will miss his club's SFC semi-final this weekend. Many AFL clubs had been rumoured to be interested in Brophy but his decision to sign with the Perth side, who just missed out on the finals this year, it an interesting one. His Kildare teammate Sean Hurley has also signed an AFL deal yesterday with Freemantle.
Elsewhere, Tyrone's Conor McKenna is also headed for the AFL after signing with Essendon.
