Ten weeks ahead of their opening fixture of the Leinster Championship, the Dublin footballers have sustained a major blow.
Two-time All-Ireland winner Eoghan O'Gara has been ruled out for the rest of the 2015 due to a knee injury. The forward ruptured his ACL while playing for his club Templeogue Synge Street.
Dublin manager Jim Gavin told the county's website:
On a personal level this is extremely disappointing for Eoghan. His start to the 2015 season had been very positive with some excellent performances in the O’Byrne Cup and National Football League.
Protocols have been activated to ensure that Eoghan will receive the best of medical care and the Dublin Football medical and coaching staff will actively assist in his recovery over the weeks and months ahead.
We wish Eoghan a speedy recovery, and we look forward to seeing him back to full health in the near future.
