Paul Galvin made a surprise return to the inter-county fold on Tuesday evening when he played for the Kerry senior panel in a training game against the Kerry U21s in Tralee.
Stephen O'Brien spoke to GAA.ie today ahead of the Allianz League clash between Kerry and Cork this weekend. The All-Ireland winner disclosed that Galvin texted the panel before the training game informing them of his return.
We just got a text on the way down to training yesterday. It came as a bit of a surprise to many of us that he was coming back. We played the Kerry U21s in a challenge game last night and he came on for us, so it's good to have him back.
The Kenmare player also revealed the content of the message. The 2009 Footballer of the Year said that there would be "no airs and graces" about him.
He said that in the message he sent as well, that there would be no airs and graces. He's going to compete for playing time with the rest of the squad and he'll be a valued member of the squad going forward.
