Just over a year after his retirement, Paul Galvin is making a surprise return to inter-county football aged 35.
The Kerry County Board released a statement from manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice stating that Galvin is back in training this evening.
Paul Galvin has re-joined the Kerry Senior Football squad and resumed training this evening
The four-time All-Ireland winner called it a day on February 1st last year, saying that he could no longer commit the timed required to be an inter-county player. Kerry went on to win the All-Ireland Championship despite his absence.
In the meantime, he won a Kerry County Hurling title with Lixnaw and released his autobiography 'In My Own Words'.
Kerry have started well in the Allianz Football League. They have beaten both Derry and Dublin since losing their opening game against Mayo.
