A few eyebrows were raised over the weekend as the best hurlers in the country dusted off a few more cobwebs from the winter break. We are two games in with Dublin looking like strong contenders for the title, having beaten both of last years finalists. Then again, it is only two games.
Cork 1-24 v 0-17 Clare
Saturday saw Cork cruise past Clare by ten points in a one-sided affair at Pairc Ui Rinn. Luke O'Farrell got the only goal of the game.
Kilkenny 3-11 v 0-25 Dublin
How often have a team conceded three goals to Kilkenny (without scoring themselves) and gone on to win? Well Dublin did it with ease and proved that goals don't always win you games. The Cats finished with 13 men, having had two sent off (Jonjo Farrell and Joe Lyng). National League or not, Brian Cody wont be happy.
Tipperary 2-18 v 0-20 Galway
In the final game of the weekend, the Premier County were four point victors over a determined Galway side. Conceding two goals was their downfall, however, as Semple Stadium saw their men prevail. This result leaves both teams on one win from two games.
