14 years after he retired from inter-county football, Maurice Fitzgerald is still playing for his club aged 46.
He turned out for St. Mary's against Waterville in a South Kerry League game yesterday, scoring the first point of the game from 40 yards out.
It takes a special player to make the opposition excited about a score against them.

He wore the no. 10 jersey as his side won the game 0-09 to 0-07. Four years ago he played for the Cahirciveen side as they won the South Kerry Championship (picture from that game at the top of the page).
