Two out of every three players will suffer an injury at some point during the season, while over one-third will have more than one per season.

Head injuries account for a small proportion of all injuries and thankfully, less than 1% of injuries are diagnosed as concussion.

The most common injuries of the past year were:

Thigh (Football - 32.7%, Hurling - 23.4%)
Hamstring (Football - 23%, Hurling - 16.7%)
Knee (Football - 11.2%, Hurling - 11.8%)
Pelvis and Groin (Football - 9.7%, Hurling - 10.4%)

A small majority of injuries occur in the second half of play
