Granted, it might be fair to say that today's All Ireland final is not going to go down as an all-time classic, except perhaps among those who love a good tactical masterclass. However, that doesn't mean it was in any way devoid of the kind of intensity and passion that makes the All Ireland final such a unique sporting occasion.
Whether or not it will be remembered fondly in 20 years is secondary to the fact that Sam is going back to the Kingdom and those players will have these pictures to look back on for the rest of their lives.
