As you now probably know, the legendary Mick O'Dwyer retired from football management today. Four All Irelands with Kerry as a player, eight as a manager, two Leinster titles with Kildare, one with Laois and a Tommy Murphy Cup with Wicklow; his record speaks for itself.
However, what endeared the country to him was not just his talent but also his character and humility. Here are some of his best photos.
A handsome divil in his youth
He enjoyed a good suit...
And a good technicolour jumper
An eight time All Ireland winner as manger of Kerry
Who inspired others to follow in his footsteps
Like a master and apprentice
Micko was known to get excited
Sometimes even losing his false teeth
But that was nothing compared to the Kildare fans after they won Leinster
They really loved him
Micko was a pioneer of many things, including wearing a cap backwards
And of course, the high trousers, jersey over the jacket, farmers' cap combo
He was Harry Redknapp before Harry Redknapp
A well travelled manager, Kerry will always be his home
Until some other county try to kidnap him, that is
Away he goes. We'll miss you Mick
