Thurles Sarsfields wing forward Denis Maher was adjudged to have committed a red card offence approximately four seconds into his side's loss to Cratloe in the Munster Senior Club Championship semi-final on Sunday.
Maher (wearing 10) struck Cratloe captain Liam Markham (wearing 9) just moments after referee Cathal McAllister had thrown in the sliotar.
Cratloe went on to win the game 1-18 to 0-14 and will now face Kilmallock in the final.
