The 45 PwC All-Star hurling nominations have been announced with Clare leading the way.

The All-Ireland champions are recognised with 14 nominations with runners up Cork next best with ten. Beaten semi-finalists Limerick have nine and Kilkenny have four.

Waterford, Wexford, Dublin and Antrim bring up the remainder with two players each.

Of the Clare players that started the All-Ireland final back in July, Cathal Malone is the only one not to be nominated.

From a Cork perspective, Niall O'Leary, Sean O'Donoghue, Mark Coleman, Deccie Dalton and the unlucky Alan Connolly don't make the cut.

Shane O'Donnell will vie it out for Kyle Hayes and Darragh Fitzgibbon for Hurler of the Year while the field for the young hurler award is as competitive as it's ever been. Clare's Adam Hogan goes up against Cork's Eoin Downey and Limerick's Cathal O'Neill on that front.

The PwC All-Stars take place on Friday November 1 in the RDS.
