Although the list of things that constitute what the GAA "is all about" is ever-growing, Tipperary's Séamus Callanan is taking things to fresh heights it seems.
A star of Tipperary's victorious All-Ireland run in 2016, Callanan is a popular man in his native county; none more so than with his biggest fan, Clara.
Having written to the free-scoring forward last year to congratulate him for his success with Tipp, the 11-year old Clara woke up to a surprise that "Santa couldn't even top" on Christmas morning.
A personalised Christmas card from the Drom-Inch club-man Callanan, Clara was left in no doubt; "It was the best present I ever got."
Thanking one of Tipperary hurling's most devoted fans for her continued support, Callanan, akin to Ringo Starr responding to his reams of fan-mail in The Simpsons, does appear to be playing catch-up somewhat; Clara wrote her letter a year ago.
However, the two-time All-Ireland winner got there in the end and has confirmed for Clara that Callanan is "not only a legend on the field, but off it too."
Unquestionably, both Clara and Séamus will be hopeful that 2018 offers more for Tipperary than 2017 did.
Falling agonisingly short of reaching a second successive All-Ireland final, a one-point defeat to eventual winners Galway will leave Tipperary determined to go one step further next time out.
For Clara however, it doesn't seem like any number of future All-Ireland's could top what Callanan did for her this Christmas.
