There was an inter-provincial clash for the ages this afternoon in the Leinster intermediate football championship.
With O'Connell's of Louth facing Kilbride of Carlow, the men from the Wee county ultimately prevailed on a scoreline of 2-10 to 1-08.
However, this could only have been expected really given that Kilbride finished the game with 9 players left on the field.
Coupled with the 4 players O'Connell's lost in what must have been an incredibly tempestuous affair, referee Noel McKenna ended up sending off 10 players in total.
In what may well be some sort of record, the Louth GAA twitter machine was on hand to document events as they occurred - it swerves into disbelief wonderfully.

As yet there is no real clarity regarding what footage may or may not be available.
What could possibly have set in motion such a series of seemingly individual moments of madness is unclear as of yet.
Whatever the situation, O'Connell's will now progress with a fair few suspensions to contend with.
