Downbeat folk have suggested that the 2015 championship got the All-Ireland final it deserved. Like the hurling final a fortnight ago, the football championship drew to a humdrum conclusion yesterday.
However, the conditions were horrific and it is not in dispute that yesterday's game was a contest between the two best teams in the championship. It's probable that none of the other contenders would have produced better fare.
