Even at the age of 38, Tom Brady remains at the peak of his powers and his New England Patriots are second favourites to win the Superbowl.
Today, his chef Allen Campbell has revealed the diet that helps Brady remain among the elite.
Campbell revealed that 80% of what Brady and his wife eat are vegetables, and do not consume sugar at all.
So, 80 percent of what they eat is vegetables. The freshest vegetables. If it’s not organic, I don’t use it. And whole grains: brown rice, quinoa, millet, beans. The other 20 percent is lean meats: grass-fed organic steak, duck every now and then, and chicken. As for fish, I mostly cook wild salmon.
It’s very different than a traditional American diet. But if you just eat sugar and carbs—which a lot of people do—your body is so acidic, and that causes disease.
Campbell also revealed that Brady does not eat tomatoes, as they are likely to cause inflammation and he also avoids caffine and dairy.
Brady's diet has been the subject of media attention before: last month the New York Times magazine revealed one of Brady's treats is ice cream...made from avocado.
