The night is dark and full of spoilers.
The internet is a minefield of Game of Thrones this afternoon and thankfully you won't find them here. Our interest, instead, pertains to teasers, notably the only sent out by Hafthor Bjornsson, aka Gregor 'The Mountain' Clegane (which are, as far as we know, still unresolved).
It was a busy weekend for The Mountain. Yesterday, ESPN aired a 60-minute interview with the Icelander where he admitted steroid use in the past. Then hours before Game of Thrones was broadcast, Thor posted a photo on Instagram that will have sated the appetites of many GoT fans who were already over the moon at the thought of the beginning of the end of the programme.
That's right, it's The Mountain beside The Hound, aka Sandor Clegane (Rory McCann). It could just be a photo of two GoT actors, or the photo of the Clegane brothers could in fact tease at the GoT battle so many fans have been waiting for.
For years, Game Of Thrones fans have yearned for a CleganeBowl conclusion to GoT. While the battle for the Iron Throne consumes many in the media, an existential battle between the Hound and his zombie brother is the true deathfight that fans want to see. The Cleganes went at it in Season 1 and surely this photo offers an assurance of what's to come.
