Just a short Dart trip from Dublin city centre is one of the best hikes in the environs of the capital.
The 'Bog of Frogs' trail winds around Howth Head with some spectacular views of Ireland's Eye and Lambay Island along the way.
Taking just three hours, the start is conveniently placed at Howth Dart Station. Follow the purple markers along the harbour and then out by the coast.
A looped trail, approximately 10km long, it eventual returns you back to Howth village.
Other attractions include the Baily Lighthouse and a Martello Tower.
There are other, shorter trails in the area, but the Bog of Frogs is easily the best.
