Man Utd confirmed on Thursday afternoon that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has signed a one-year contract with the club.
The Swede joined Man Utd last summer on a one-year contract. A knee injury suffered during a Europa League game against Anderlecht ended his season early and, initially, looked like it had ended his Old Trafford career.
However, the 35-year-old has returned. With Wayne Rooney having exited the club, Ibrahimovic will wear the number 10 shirt this season.
Jose Mourinho said Ibrahimovic's performances last season - scoring 28 goals in all - had earned him a level of trust at Man Utd.
We are delighted Zlatan is on the road to recovery and we are equally delighted to have his ambition and experience back with us. After his contribution last season he deserves our trust and we will be patient waiting for him to return. I have no doubt that he will be important in the second part of the season.
It remains uncertain when exactly Ibrahimovic will be able to return to action.
