It all started so well for Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Manchester United, but having fired blanks in recent weeks, the pressure has begun to mount on the big Swede.
Ibrahimovic is currently experiencing his longest run without a goal in a decade - some eight hours, in fact - with his only goal in his past 8 games arriving against Ukrainian outfit Zorya in the Europa League.
Of course, it won't have helped his cause that United have been complete pants within the same period, but renowned sporting statisticians Opta have released figures on Zlatan's season which put into context just how quickly things have turned to shite for the 35-year-old.
Opta have revealed that Ibrahimovic has the worst 'big chance' conversion rate in the Premier League so far this season, having missed six of his seven big chances so far this season.
As per Adam Bate on Sky Sports, the Opta definition of a big chance is as follows: A situation where a player should reasonably be expected to score usually in a one-on-one scenario or from very close range.
Of the 17 players to have had four or more similar chances, Ibrahimovic has converted the fewest.
Furthermore, the Ballon D'Or nominee has failed to register with his last 30 efforts on goal. To put that into perspective, only three other players have had 30 shots overall, and none have scored fewer than Ibrahimovic. The league's top scorer, Diego Costa, has scored 7 goals from 27 attempts. Ibrahimovic started his season with 4 goals from 15 efforts, but has since gone 0-for-30 in the goals-to-shots stakes as United continue to falter.
