It was as the perfect ending to a managerial stint as any man could hope for. Zinedine Zidane left Real Madrid following his third consecutive Champions League triumph back in May, but after a stretch out of the game the Frenchman has admitted he will to return to management sooner rather than later.
One job that the World Cup winner continues to be linked with is Jose Mourinho's at Manchester United. The Portugese tactician has had a summer fraught with tension surrounding transfers and after two defeats in his opening four fixtures the rumours are growing that Zizou is the man to turn things around at Old Trafford.
France’s Le 10Sport seem to think that the gears are already in motion for Zidane's move to Manchester, reporting that the 46-year-old has already held talks with United and wishes to bring Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann with him to the club. Though another report from Don Balon proffers Karim Benzema as Zidane's preffered option to take with him to his next club.
Spanish news outlet El Confidencial write that Zidane is keen to take over from Mourinho, though Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is 'disturbed' that the Frenchman did not take a full year out after leaving Madrid to seek another job.
Either way Jose Mourinho doesn't believe that his position is under threat, recently joking that the club will have to pay out too much money in order to sack him.
