David Moyes was pretty unhappy when Marouane Fellaini was banned for headbutting Ryan Shawcross in December, ruling him out for three matches over the 'busy Christmas period'.
Fellaini describes how Moyes gave Everton's players and staff a day off after the Stoke game but brought the Belgian midfielder/striker in for a one on one training session.
“He can be scary...It was just me and him, and it is not easy to go into the camp to face him like that.
“I understood, because I knew I had made a mistake, but you know it’s not easy when you know you have let him down. Just going in there knowing you have to look him in the eye was hard!
“He put me through a tough session... it was a full-on session, running, shooting, passing, everything and very intense and afterwards I was upset."
Moyes also sent Fellaini to train with the youth team over Christmas even though he was suspended and made him to train on Christmas day.
Despite being slightly afraid of him, Fellaini does speak highly of the new Manchester United manager.
“Yes, he’s strict! But he’s a good guy, a good manager and every year I progress with him and get to a higher level, so he has been important for me - I can say thank you to him for everything he has done."
