Pep Guardiola Joining Man City Could Be A Real Boon For Yaya Toure's Bank Balance

The Chinese Super League is like MLS, except on steroids, HGH, testosterone and whatever it can get its hands on.

Whereas MLS clubs acquire players at the backend of their careers - see LA Galaxy's recent acquisitions of Steven Gerrard and Ashley Cole - Chinese teams are making moves for players still in their prime. Also, they're spending huge amounts of money on these players, both in terms of transfer fees and contracts.

Just last week, Ramires moved from Chelsea to Jiangsu Suning for a fee which could rise to £25 million. While on Tuesday, it was confirmed that Jackson Martinez, only signed by Atletico Madrid during the summer, will move to Guangzhou Evergrande for €42 million.

According to The Telegraph's Matt Law, Yaya Toure will be offered a massive £30 million per year contract to join the same club as Ramires.

Confirmation that Pep Guardiola will replace Manuel Pellegrini as Man City manager is being viewed as a negative for Toure's City career.

Toure's agent Dimitry Seluk told The Sun that his client will leave Man City.

I think Yaya will leave the club. But before leaving, I hope he will again win the league and all the cups.

It's not a question of whether Pep likes him or not. It's life, you know.

While his City career will end, his salary as a footballer will more than double. Should he be offered the contract by Jiangsu Suning, and accept, he would become the third highest paid player in the world. Not bad for a 32-year-old entering the twilight of their career.
