Yannick Bolasie had a good start to his career at Everton, but a horror injury in his debut campaign really set him back. He never really recovered his place in the team after that, spending time on loan at the likes of Aston Villa and Sporting Lisbon.
He failed to get any first team opportunities at Goodison Park this season and has now been sent out on loan. The winger has joined Middlesbrough for the remainder of the campaign. Considering his contract expiring in June, it is highly likely that he has played his last game for Everton.
Despite not really making much of an impact on Merseyside in recent times, he still seems well liked by those at the club. After the news of his departure was confirmed, he received a classy message from club captain Seamus Coleman.
Will always be my guy 💙 Captain & Friend, this is what we spoke about in October & it’s never stopped...I believe in myself but when my teammates do as well it always gives you a different drive #ThankYouCapo pic.twitter.com/HReGF0AW9p

The 31-year old shared it on his Twitter account, with the message from Coleman reading:
Hi mate. I'm sorry to hear you're not training with us. You attitude and application in training was amazing and you were on it everyday and it was hard but enjoyable for me to be up against you everyday!
You make me better and prepare me for wingers at the weekend! Never lose your attitude and football can change quickly...
I will always be supporting you and watching what you do with interest! Nothing has changed, you're the same player you always were! Keep going.
A mark of the man.
Coleman is widely regarded as one of the best characters in the game at the minute, garnering a huge amount of respect from both teammates and opponents.
He also knows the struggles Bolasie has gone through during his struggles with injury, with the Irishman also having a lengthy spell on the sidelines with his own leg issue. A real class act.
