Saturday really was a day for goodbyes. Paul O'Connell had what looks like being his final game in a Munster jersey at Thomond Park, Jurgen Klopp said auf wiedersehen to the Westfalenstadion and Xavi had an emotional adios at the Camp Nou.
After Barcelona drew 2-2 with Deportivo La Coruna, tributes were lead on the pitch by Xavi's partner in tiki-taka for so many years, Andres Iniesta. That was before a superb montage of the midfielder's Barca career was broadcast in the stadium.
Xavi was substituted with under five minutes remaining in the game. He received a tremendous ovation from the crowd.
Though the La Liga is now finished, it is probably not the last time Xavi will play for Barcelona at the Camp Nou. The Copa Del Rey final between Barca and Athletic Bilbao is being held there next weekend.
