Spain midfielder Xavi has agreed to join Qatari outfit Al Arabi according to their manager Dan Petrescu.
The former Chelsea defender who took charge of Al Arabi earlier this year, claims that the Barcelona stalwart has already signed a pre-contract agreement with his club. Xavi of course, had been linked with Everton last week.
Reports from Romania claim that should the deal go through the playmaker would earn a whopping €6million a season at the Middle Eastern club.
Xavi has spent his entire career at the Nou Camp but it now seems that the 34 year old’s tenure with the Catalan giants is coming to a close, with Al Arabi tipped to snap him up.
Often cited as one of the greatest midfielders of his generation, Xavi won seven league titles, two Copa de Reys, three Champions Leagues, two UEFA Super Cups and a pair of FIFA Club World Cups during his time at Barcelona.
He had a decent season with Barcelona despite the Catalans failing to win a trophy. The midfield maestro scored four goals and made five assists in all competitions, and finished with pass completion rate of over 90%.
