Top of the Bundesliga, through to the Champions League semi-finals, Xabi Alonso has had a successful first season at Bayern Munich. The Spaniard played his part in Bayern's destruction of Porto on Tuesday evening by scoring his side's sixth of the game.

It came from a free kick, which according to stats guru Mister Chip, was the midfielder's eight attempt on goal from the dead ball situation this season. Incredibly, he has scored from 50% of those attempts.

Compare that to Cristiano Ronaldo who just recently scored his first free kick in over a year.
