As Wrexham took on Sheffield United in the FA Cup, you will struggle to find anyone someone more excited during the game than Ryan Reynolds.

As the lowest ranked side left in the competition took on a side destined for promotion to the Premier League, Wrexham were denied in the final moments by John Egan for one of the biggest FA Cup shocks of all time in a thrilling 3-3 draw.

Under the ownership of Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mcelhenney since 2021, with Reynolds attendinding today's game, the Welsh club were looking for a fairytale story in this FA Cup tie.

The duo have become big favourites among the fans, bringing some much needed investment to the Welsh club.

With Sheffield United second in the Championship and Wrexham in the Conference League, it should have been very straight forward on paper.

However, as Reynolds told BBC before the game the magic of the FA Cup is truly alive and kicking.

It's football and anything can happen. I'll go and record and say this. There's a chance, albeit a very slim chance, that Sheffield United pull off a miracle today."

Despite a strong performance in the first-half from the Non-League side, an early goal from Sheffield United striker Oli McBurnie was the difference between the sides.

Ryan Reynolds was a nervous wreck throughout the game, but was filled with absolute excitement, as Wrexham equalised in the 50th minute through James Jones after Sheffield United failed to deal with a long throw in.

As the fans couldn't contain their excitement in the stadium, Wrexham were in dreamland when Thomas O'Connor gave them a 2-1 lead 10 minutes later from a corner.

The lead was short lived however, as Oliver Norwood finished at the second time of asking to bring the Championship side level. The drama was far from over, as Daniel Jacobson sent off in the 71st minute for an off the ball incident.

The dream than became reality with five minute to go, as Paul Mullin scored with five minutes remaining to spark wild celebrations.

It wasn't to be however, as Egan scored in the 95th minute as they will do it all again in Bramall Lane.
