Wolverhampton Wanderers and former Ireland U21 international goalkeeper Aaron McCarey has been given a suspended four month ban by the FA for failing an out of competition drugs test.

McCarey was suspended by his club on back in April pending the results of an FA ruling on a failed drugs test when McCarey tested positive for a non-performance enhancing drug during out of competition testing, but has today been reinstated by Wolves.

The four month ban has been suspended for two years, which means that McCarey is free to participate in competition and will re-join the Wolverhampton Wanderers squad for the 2015/16 season.

McCarey used the club's official YouTube channel to issue a statement where he thanked the fans for support while he waited to hear the results of the ruling, and expressed his wish to push on and continue with his career.

We wish him the best of luck in getting back into action.
