The day has finally arrived. The arguments have been had, the votes have been cast and we can now reveal the winner of our bracket to crown Ireland's Greatest Football Jersey, in association with Ladbrokes.
Many great jerseys have fallen along the way. Indeed some beauties didn't even make the top 16. However, it cannot be said that the best and brightest did not get their fair shot at glory. This has been democracy at its finest.
The final pitted together two of our most famous ever jerseys: the 90-92 home kit vs the 88-90 home kit. Italia 90 vs Euro 88. Those in the know said that this was too close to call, that it would go right to the wire. Once again, the election experts have been proved horribly wrong.
We can reveal that - with a whopping 77% of the vote - the winner of Ireland's Greatest Football Jersey is the 1990-92 home jersey!
The 90-92 number swept every constituency. It won the onsite vote, it won the Instagram stories vote, the Twitter and the Facebook stories vote. This was as resounding a victory as we have ever seen in a final. Congratulations to all those involved in making it all those years ago. 30 years old and still a piece of art. "Bravo! Bravo!" we say.
