Will Grigg is on fire, and he is soon going to envelop the rest of the world in a fiery, apocalyptical abyss, as UEFA's nominations for the best player in Europe award offer further proof that the world is about to end.
UEFA released the nominations for the award - voted by journalists from each of UEFA's 55 member associations and along the usual names of Ronaldo, Suarez, Neymar and Messi is one Will Grigg.
Grigg received as many votes as the man single-handedly propping up football news outlets throughout the summer, Paul Pogba, and received more votes than Borussia Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. He also received as many votes as the most criminally underrated player on planet Earth, Diego Godin:
In vote of journos in UEFA's 55 nations, Grigg received same number of votes as Chiellini, Godin, Lloris and Pogba for UEFA player of season

Grigg did not play a minute at the Euros with Northern Ireland, but did score 25 goals for Wigan in League One last season.
We all know, however, that the reason he has been included is because of THAT song. Grigg's inclusion is further proof of the remarkable power of advertising.
Grigg did not make the final ten-man shortlist, which is below:
Gareth Bale (Real Madrid & Wales)
Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus & Italy)
Antoine Griezmann (Atlético Madrid & France)
Toni Kroos (Real Madrid & Germany)
Lionel Messi (Barcelona & Argentina)
Thomas Müller (Bayern München & Germany)
Manuel Neuer (Bayern München & Germany)
Pepe (Real Madrid & Portugal)
Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid & Portugal)
Luis Suárez (Barcelona & Uruguay)
The list will be reduced to three players in August, with the winner announced during the draw for the Champions League group stages on August 25.
